VI: DESCRIPTION OF EVENT

The objective of this event was to impact the lives of 5 underprivileged women and girls in the Bamenda III municipality by giving financial assistance for petite businesses like food stuffs for marketing and raising profits which could be used to feed their families. Envelopes were handed by designated members to the beneficiaries. We had a panel of the underprivileged women and girls who shared their pathetic journey through life suffering, especially the story of Etangi Mirabelle and how it looks like to be relieved of such suffering. This left the participants with a soul searching mindset. Our event was a huge success, not only was everyone pleasantly surprised at such philanthropic gestures from the CIDEV members, which sparked curiosity and interest for such a wonderful humanitarian services rendered to the underprivileged women and girls.

VII: OUTCOMES

Etangi Mirabel who was empowered with just a bucket of egusi is now able to buy egusi in bags, interest raised from the money helped her to support for the buying of a zinc for their uncompleted house. Kah loveline had some difficulties with insecurity but is able to have a sale of 6000 FRS per day and a weekly sale of 25000 FRS. Vanessa in her hurkebury business could make a profit of 2000/3000 FRS upon her daily sales. Delphine was unable to do business due to her tight schedules and resolved to open her account with the money. Isabelle used part of the money for her child’s surgery though she was considered by CIDEV as apparently lazy. So for the first outcome, CIDEV had a success rate of 60%
